How we count
What each of these actually means
Impact figures are easy to inflate and hard to trust. So: an animal helped is one we fed, treated, moved, homed or intervened for at least once — counted once, not once per interaction.
A rescue case is a reported animal we physically attended. A veterinary intervention is a treatment arranged and paid for through a partner clinic. Meals served is estimated from food purchased and portion size, and is the only figure on this page that is not a direct count.
